Wallaga University remains committed to forging partnerships with key stakeholders through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to address pressing societal challenges, both anthropogenic and natural.
On May 22, 2025, the University formalized a collaborative agreement with Jeret Peace and Reconciliation Organization (JPRO) to support government-led initiatives in fostering lasting peace in Western Oromia, particularly across the four Wallaga zones. The agreement centers on joint peacebuilding efforts leveraging indigenous knowledge in conflict resolution mechanisms. The collaboration will engage religious leaders, community elders, and Abbaa Gadaa as vital representatives in these initiatives. Additionally, the partnership will facilitate joint research projects and grant-writing endeavors to further strengthen its impact.
This five-year agreement underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to sustainable peace and reconciliation.
