Wollega University Law School gave training to members of district, city and kebele councils (legislative) who came from East Wollega.
The aim of the training is to strengthen the performance of the members of parliament in all levels. This is a capacity building training designed to enable councils to know their power and limits, to know their rights and obligations and to have adequate understanding and knowledge on how to control and monitor.
Dr. Tesfaye Lemma, the acting president of our university, opened the training with a speech and said that Wollega University will provide community services besides studying, conducting research and research. They said the capacity building training that was organized in law school today is part of community service. In health, education, agriculture, business, entrepreneurship, youth ethics, etc, they have said that solving the problems of the society, technology introduction and transition, awareness creation work, capacity building trainings and social responsibilities are being carried out.
Dr. Tesfaye explained that the training that is going on today is based on the agreement between the Chefe Oromia office and the universities in Oromia region. The president has urged the participants of the training to strengthen their knowledge and play their role in building the country. Finally, we thanked Wollega University Law School for their community service such as free legal service and different trainings.
The training will be given for two days on different topics.
