The Faculty of Agriculture at Shambu Campus has developed strong institutional linkages that enhance its academic, research, and community engagement roles. It maintains collaborative partnerships with national and regional agricultural research centers, such as Bako, Holeta Ambo, Mekasa, Bishoft, Batu, Sebeta, Research Centers, the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) and Addis Ababa University Bishoftu Campus and nearby sub-centers, enabling the students’ joint educational field trips, annual research review and the sharing of improved technologies. These collaborations often involve interdisciplinary activities, where experts from various fields: plant science, animal science, and food science, agronomy, and fisheries & aquatic science work together to address complex agricultural challenges. The Faculty also engages with government industries and regional laboratories, particularly in areas like soil and water analysis, seed certification, and food safety testing, which strengthens both its teaching and practical training capacities. Additionally, partnerships with private industries, including agro-processing companies and input suppliers, support student internships, applied research, and technology transfer. These linkages serve as vital bridges between academia and real-world agricultural development, ensuring that the knowledge generated benefits local communities and supports national priorities.
